Skylight – National Theatre Live

A four-cornered love story with a cast of three, this serious comedy comes in just two acts. Kyra (Carey Mulligan), an idealistic girl now grown into very much her own woman, still treasures feelings for two adolescent men; Tom and his son (Bill Nighy and Matthew Beard). These conflicting lads, so alike in their good qualities, have developed some winning ways but also know that she always gets the last word. The play ends both well and truthfully, and it stays with you. I spent half the night plotting out Act Three. The clue is in the title.
