Portslade man faces court on race hate and bilking charges

A 45-year-old man from Portslade is due to appear before Brighton magistrates tomorrow (Thursday 4 September) accused of racially abusing a bus driver and bilking a taxi driver.

Brian David Hamilton, of Highlands Road, Portslade, has been charged with racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm and distress on bank holiday Monday (25 August).

He is also accused of making off without payment of a taxi fare on the same day.

He initially appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 26 August when he was remanded in custody until tomorrow.
