Felice Brothers
New York’s country rockers eased into their set with some drawling Dylanesque downbeat everyman blues and hobo waltzes, with vocals shared between siblings Ian and James. The latter’s accordian brought a zydeco feel to the uptempo numbers, notably a bouncy cover of the traditional ‘Cumberland Gap’, with some hoedown fiddle from Greg Farley completing the honkytonk sound. A few plodding mid-tempo songs caused a midway dip, that some of the more indifferent attendees talked over, but this was remedied by a rambunctious, if slightly ramshackle, finale of good-time drinking songs, headed by the great singalong ‘Where D’Ya Get The Liquor?’.
