Run The World 2014

Run The World is a large scale children’s sporting event taking place early October in Brighton, Hove and Worthing, and is an initiative set up by the team behind the Brighton Marathon. Thousands of children from schools all over the city will take part in Run The World 2014, where they will run a combined distance equivalent to around the world.

Action

It’s organised by Grounded Events as a fun initiative to encourage children to be active in sport and get outdoors. The children, aged 7 to 11, have the opportunity to run 1km and contribute towards a big overall total. The total kilometres covered to date from three previous editions of Run The World is 14,784km. More than forty primary and middle schools in Brighton, Hove and Worthing have registered for the 2014 event. Our goal is to cover a total of more than 7,500km over three days.

The dates for this year’s runs are:
Day 1: Wednesday 1 October 2014 in Preston Park, Brighton
Day 2: Thursday 2 October 2014 in Hove Park, Hove
Day 3: Tuesday 7 October 2014 in Homefield Park, Worthing
