Brighton and Hove bin workers strike again over pay

Bin workers across Brighton and Hove went on strike today (Monday September 15) – again.

Unions said the unrest derived from the long-running issue over pay and allowances – supposedly resolved last year.

It claimed that some staff should be paid more.

But Brighton and Hove City Council said any changes to its pay structure would undermine it’s entire system.

Meanwhile, residents have been left with uncollected waste – and the threat that this action could run on for weeks.
