Crime pays for Portslade football club
Money confiscated from crooks by the courts has been used to buy footballs for young players in Portslade.
Youngsters at Mile Oak Wanderers FC have new balls worth £200 after a donation from Sussex Police.
Club vice-chairman Stuart Berry said: “Thank you very much to Sussex Police for this donation.
“Footballs are naturally the items of equipment most needed at any football club and are also the items that need replacing the most too, so the donation will be very useful indeed.
“As a community amateur sports club with low membership fees we are very grateful for any donation received and this will be put to good use in purchasing some new footballs for our club.”
The donation comes from the Police Property Act Fund which is made up of money received by the police from property confiscated by order of the courts and then sold.
