GøL4M

This experimental dance piece was part of the Brighton Digital Festival, in which a cocooned tattooed nude man undulated around a padded stage in a dystopian hypnotic sort of way along with impressive lighting sequences and projections. The glitchy, atonal soundtrack was difficult, but built to a frenetic, punchy climax with a visually striking and dramatic dance around a tesla coil. The momentum sagged in the middle however, which a more melodic soundtrack might have rendered more enjoyable. Although GøL4M was undoubtedly unique and full of potential (effectively showcasing possibilities for digital technology in performance art), the piece lacked any real impact or distinctive, memorable moments.
