Celebcity: Style It Out

The Saturdays on tour, Scarlett Quinn, David Gandy, Kate Henry and The Great British Bake Off

Last weekend, The Saturdays’ Greatest Hits Tour hit the Brighton Centre. Frankie, Vanessa, Rochelle, Mollie and Una, who have been performing together for six years now, put on an amazing show playing all of their hits and thrilling the crowd.

Frankie will be hitting our screens as a star of the ever popular seasonal ballroom bonanza Strictly Come Dancing, which will no doubt be thrashing X-Factor in the ratings very soon. On her dance show debut, Frankie said: “Like so many little girls, I used to take dance lessons when I was in primary school and I really love dancing, but this is going to be so different from anything I have done with The Saturdays.

I just can’t wait to get started!”
Definitely worth a bet at the bookies; Frankie might well go home with 2014’s Glitter Ball Trophy. We can also look forward to seeing Brighton’s favourite TV presenter and Mrs Fatboy Slim on the box, as Zoe Ball returns at the helm of Strictly’s companion show ‘It Takes Two’.

She’s got it
Brighton model and singer Scarlett Quinn has now progressed to the Boot Camp section of talent contest X-Factor. Scarlett, 28, who is one half of Brighton duo Kitten And The Hip, famously dumped partner Ashley Slater out of the competition to go solo.

Scarlett impressed the judges at her Wembley audition, singing her version of a Christina Aguilera hit, ‘Ain’t No Other Man’. Judge Cheryl commented that there was something very intriguing about the singer as she sailed through to the next stage. You can see how Scarlett gets on next weekend on ITV1 (unless you’re tuned to Strictly).
M&S super model
spotted!
The world’s first male supermodel, the luscious David Gandy, was most improbably located in the queue at Carphone Warehouse in Mayfair.

On our most recent jaunt to the Big Smoke, we were overcome to find ourselves face to face with the model who has just pleased the straight female half of the nation by launching his own range of smalls in M&S. An ex-boyfrend of Mollie from The Saturdays, David was every bit as dashing in the flesh as you would imagine.

Bake off home
We were sad to see the lovely Kate Henry crash out of The Great British Bake Off last week. The former actress, who lives in Brighton with her five year old daughter Eloise, had a rollercoaster ride in the cookery competition, being evicted from the Bake Off marquee just two weeks after being star baker.

The 41 year old kitchen whizz revealed that all was very harmonious on the Bake Off set, with all of the contestants getting on well and already planning a reunion.

On her (pastry) brush with fame, Kate commented: “The whole thing has been really overwhelming. I’ve gone from doing the school run to everyone knowing who I am. People have been really supportive, which is lovely. We were warned about ‘trolls’ but I feel very lucky that hasn’t happened to me. I seem to have escaped unscathed.”
