Leaders host Macmillan coffee mornings countrywide
More than 50 Leaders branches up and down the country, including Leaders’ offices in Brighton and Hove, hosted a coffee morning on Friday 26 September as part of Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ event.
The Leaders teams baked cakes, served teas and coffees, held raffles and competitions, and a brave few even took part in Ice Bucket Challenges to raise money for the charity, including some of Leaders’ Sussex branch managers (as pictured).
Leaders’ Sussex Regional Director, Jane Wilkinson, said: “We were delighted to take part in Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event of the year and were proud to be one of the largest coffee morning organisers in the country! Through our coffee mornings we raised thousands of pounds, which has brought us within touching distance of our target of £25,000 that we pledged to raise for Macmillan as our chosen charity partner this year. A huge thank you to our customers, local businesses and members of the public for coming along to support our events. Macmillan is an amazing charity which provides much-needed practical, medical and financial support to those diagnosed with cancer and their families. It is close to the hearts of many of our staff and customers who have had personal experience of Macmillan’s support, or know someone who has.”
Cancer is the toughest fight most people will ever face. And as treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives. The money raised from everyone who took part in Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ will help make sure no one has to face cancer alone, from the moment they’re diagnosed, through treatment and beyond.
