Goat
The indie/world fusion group’s first ever European tour was highly anticipated, and in the sold out Concorde 2 fug turned out to be hugely hot too. Although at times it was a bit stifling, that merely seems like unnecessary bluster since the gig was so fun. Seven people in theatrical tribal costume on stage utilised wah-wah and legato guitar techniques, multiple chanting charismatic vocalists, a bongo player and much more. The songs were strong but did blend together a little, with an atmospheric harmonica solo the only truly striking change of pace. The revelling atmosphere was so hedonistic however that the night was surely one of the most enjoyable the Concorde has hosted this year.
