Latest TV Sport: Knock for six

At Latest TV Sport, Jules Breach is giving the boys a run for their money

So it’s been another busy week here at Latest Sport TV. As one of the female members of the sports team, I thought I’d take it upon myself to write about all the exciting sporty stuff we’ve been up to this week, as well as present it – I’m a multi-tasker, you see.

Firstly, I suppose it would be rude if I didn’t introduce myself properly. I know what some of you might be thinking … a female? On the sports team? Yes, welcome to 2014. I may not be able to reel off statistics like our other female host, Tatiana, and I’m nowhere near as good looking as our three male presenters; Jay, Tim and Joseph, but I do love my sport and it’s been great fun working with the team so far!

I was brought up completely surrounded by sport. Without going into my entire life story (I’ll bore you another time), I come from a huge family, with all my male cousins and uncles supporting The Seagulls, and my dad who grew up in Middlesbrough supporting, naturally, the Boro. My now husband also once played for Brighton & Hove Albion as a youngster, and under a two year professional contract for the club a few years ago, and he still plays at a decent standard today. So football has and will always be a massive part of my life. I also played at a semi-professional level, not in football, but in tennis, up until the age of 15. Needless to say, sport has always been a huge passion and I knew it would be an area I’d want some sort of career in. Fast forward a few years, and I ended up as a freelance TV presenter which I now do full time. I currently present for Sky Poker & Sky Bet, Somethin’ Else Productions, and locally here in Brighton for Juice 107.2 and, most recently, for Latest Sport TV.

The last couple of weeks have been super busy for us; we’re in the studio every day filming the sports news and our feature shows Matchday Breakfast and the Sport Preview show. We’re also lucky enough to film at The Amex in the sports bar which looks amazing on the telly!

The boys were there at the weekend with Latest TV’s Richard Shayler as they discussed the golf day they attended earlier this year, as part of the Robert Eaton Memorial Fund charity event. We also had a bit of fun with golf last week with our girls vs boys crazy golf challenge down at the Jungle Rumble Crazy Golf course, where it went down to a nail biting tie break on the 18th hole! The boys ended up winning. Tatiana and I are convinced they cheated, but we’ll let them off this time as we’ve now challenged them to a girls vs boys tennis match, so watch this space!

With the football season well and truly underway, we’ve also been filming at as many of the local Lewes matches that we can get ourselves to, and giving as much coverage to other local non-league sides on the sports news as well. It can get a bit cold out there at the evening matches and it’s not the most glamorous of jobs when it’s raining, however, we did get the chance to get our heels on this week (boys not included), as we filmed at the first ever Sussex County FA awards in Hove, la dee dah! We got to meet some wonderful characters and some really influential people in the world of football, and it was particularly great to speak to some of the referees, coaches and volunteers that have worked in the game for many years providing amazing service in our county.

We hope you manage to catch some of our shows over the next few days and your feedback is always welcome. If you have a sports topic that you’d love us to feature, get in touch on twitter @LatestSportTV and don’t forget to follow us there, too, for all the Latest goss! I’m now off to get my coat and get to the Lewes vs Peacehaven and Telscombe derby at the Dripping Pan …
‘Til next week, sports fans! X
