Tremendous Tipis Are Back for Christmas
Who said winter has to be gloomy? Brighton Music Hall have a spectacular solution this festive season
The Tremendous Tipis at Brighton Music Hall on Brighton beach, set in wonderfully restored Victorian arches, pop up for their second season and offer the most unique party venue on the South Coast.
The huge, heated terrace hosts a free daily outdoor carnival during the summer, featuring the best of local bands singing crowd-pleasing favourites. Whilst packed to the rafters throughout spring, summer and into autumn, this fantastic outdoor space was always to some extent wasted during the winter, which was a great shame, given that the beach is even more dramatic during this season.
Having searched for a solution for over two years, Steve, the proprietor, stumbled across some amazing tipis in Manchester city centre. “As soon as I saw them I knew they were what we were looking for,” says Steve. “It was a grim February afternoon, but when I entered the tipis the world was transformed into a warm magical place! The streets outside were virtually empty, yet inside the tipis the space was filled with laughter and celebration as people drank and dined. I knew I had to bring them to Brighton beach.”
The Brighton Music Hall ‘Tremendous Tipi’ was born, made its debut for Christmas 2013 and was a phenomenal success, with all Christmas parties selling out. The reaction to the beautiful structures was just as hoped. With open fires at the entrance, festoon lighting linking the tipis to the main venue and even a retro caravan photo booth for fun, thousands enjoyed afternoons and evenings under canvas in the warmth of the tipis in this spectacular beach location, with the skeletal West Pier as the backdrop.
The winter weekends will see the return of the Christmas festival, with live music, great food, and even an appearance from Santa in the tipi every Saturday and Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online or are available on the day, but if you want a table it is highly recommended to book, as last year there was no space to spare!
This new pop up Brighton venue really will be the hottest ticket in town this December, so book early to avoid disappointment. Here at Latest 7 we are almost wishing the summer away … almost.
