Sussex drenched by flash flooding after autumn showers

Torrential rainfall caused flash floods and road chaos across the south coast yesterday (Wednesday October 8).

With a couple of inches of rain falling in a matter of hours, parts of Brighton, Hove and Lancing were badly affected.

Fire crews said they attended seven incidents of local flooding. Two cars were also wrecked in separate incidents on the A27.

Patcham was one of the worst affected areas as Latest TV’s Mhairi Beveridge found out when she shot this footage.
