BREMF – Music from the Sistine Chapel, Deborah Roberts

This one hour concert demonstrated the high quality of singing, learning and musical success that can be concentrated into a single day’s study. The workshop was aimed at ‘reasonably experienced singers’ who gave a performance that many dedicated choirs would rehearse weeks to achieve. There was a rich, focused tone and very clear diction. They must have done plenty of homework beforehand because their eyes were mainly on the conductor, not stuck in their music. They’ll be repeating the 18 part, three choir Gloria based on Palestrina’s motet ‘Tu es Petrus’ with the BREMF Consort next Saturday at St Bartholomew’s.
