Don Quijote

After a warming welcome with folkloric music and a free seating policy, Tom Frankland and Keir Cooper, in association with Ultimo Comboio, spent two hours of full creativity and nonsense explaining their vision about Don Quijote. Written by Miguel de Cervantes 400 years ago, Don Quijote is a comedy that criticizes Spanish society in a witty way. Cervantes is known as the ‘Spanish Shakespeare’, and for that reason it doesn’t seem strange to have different interpretations of his novels. Tonight’s interpretation was a calling to craziness; do-what-you-want and find the Quijote inside yourself. This approach is alright, but not quite close to the origins of this madman of la Mancha.
