Pam Ayers
You’ve had a nice Sunday roast, the autumn leaves falling, the crisp wind reddening your cheeks, and then you go to watch Pam Ayers. A perfect British Sunday, isn’t it? Performing extended extracts from her autobiography which were punctuated by excerpts from her latest poetry release and some old classics, it provided the perfect balance. There’s a deceptive light and shade to Pam Ayers’ work; undoubtedly funny but also with periods of reflection and sadness. But the humour is never far away. And she’s a terrific performer, lifting the text and giving it nuance and depth. A lovely way to finish a week; charming in every way.
