The Latest Sport team play fisticuffs with some of Brighton’s best: Jules Breach has the gossip

Hey everyone! What have we learnt since last week? Well, not that it’s news to you, but the international break is never the most thrilling, is it? We here at Latest Sport are excited that we’re now back to watching some really exciting football; after all, there’s not many things in life better than a Super Sunday. Ok, slight exaggeration, but in other words – we’ve missed the beautiful game.

Brighton were back in action at home against Middlesbrough at the weekend, a match that was eagerly anticipated due to the football drought. Middlesbrough manager Karanka has proved himself so far as a brilliant championship manager, and it’s no surprise being a student of Jose Mourinho. I write this article prior to the match, so I’ll just take a stab in the dark here and say it’ll be a 1-2 win to Boro. I’m worried this could upset Brighton fans, however, my dad is a Middlesbrough fan, so I think I’d rather not upset him. After all, my birthday is coming up and I want a decent present. Hopefully, I’ll be proved wrong with that score line, and in next week’s mag I can make another rubbish prediction.

To keep ourselves occupied in the last week, the boys here at Latest Sport have been building the excitement leading up to Crusader Events’ first big event at The Hilton Brighton Metropole hotel on Friday 31 October. We will of course be there to capture all the action, blood, sweat and tears on the night, but in the meantime, we’ve been getting to know some of the boxers that’ll be fighting on the night.

So far, we’ve caught up with some of our home grown talent, including Marcus Eaton – a super dedicated boxer with an unbeaten record and a 25% knock out percentage. He’s bound to put on an entertaining fight.

We also spent time getting to know Eli Green – with a brutal record of five wins in five, two of which were stoppages in the first round. This guy is sure to make a massive impact in the ring.

Lloyd ‘lightning bolt’ Ellett is another of the boxers we’ve met with, who has a huge fan base in the Brighton and Hove area after picking up the British and International Masters titles. We’ve also met up with Oli Thompson who will also be involved in the Fright Night event, so to find out more about the guys, you can check out the video footage on our Latest Sport Youtube page: http://m.youtube.com/user/LatestTV.

Also, to recap a few things from last week, some of you may have caught our Matchday Breakfast special – which was also a double celebration for our Joseph’s birthday! There was a lot of cake eating and far too much fun and games to call it ‘work’! If you missed the show, they also had footballer Sergio Torres on, who’s been a friend of the Latest Sport team for a while. Now playing for local team Whitehawk, Torres told us about a few highlights of his career, one of which was playing at Old Trafford when his then team, Crawley, faced Man Utd in the FA Cup. He even managed to swap shirts with Michael Carrick! Nice! On this week just gone’s Matchday Breakfast, I was hosting with some very exciting guests … to celebrate the Brighton Comedy Festival, we thought we’d involve some comedians to lighten the mood, and I’ve got to say, I haven’t laughed that much on the show in a long time. I’ll tell you more stories about that next week.

Til then sports fans!

Jules Breach xx
