Vodafone to open new store in Brighton
Vodafone to open new store in Brighton as part of £100 million investment in the UK high street
Juice FM DJ and Patron of local children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House, Ambrose Harcourt is to open Vodafone’s newly expanded store on Wednesday 22 October at 10am. The larger store, located at Unit 16, Churchill Square, Brighton, BN1 2TB is part of Vodafone’s £100 million nationwide investment in its retail business, which includes opening 150 new shops and creating 1,400 jobs.
To mark the opening, the staff in the Brighton store wanted to give something back to the local community and have chosen Chestnut Tree House, a charity offering children’s hospice care. They’ll be taking on a variety of activities, including volunteering in the hospice shops in Brighton and Hove and running fancy dress days in store to encourage donations. Some brave souls are even considering taking on the Brighton Marathon!
Chestnut Tree House, a local charity, is unique across East and West Sussex, caring for 300 children and young adults from birth to 19 with progressive life- shortening and life-threatening conditions.
Ambrose Harcourt, Patron of Chestnut Tree House said “It’s great to see Vodafone’s employees supporting such a worthwhile cause, not just with financial support but by donating their time as well. I’m delighted to have been asked to open the store and look forward to hearing about the staff’s fundraising exploits over the coming months and years.”
Jay Winton, Manager of Vodafone’s Brighton store said “We’re really pleased to be able to support the work of Chestnut Tree House in whatever way we can. We all live locally and wanted to work with a charity that does such great work within Sussex. Expanding our store means that we’ll be around for many years to come and we’re looking forward to coming up with some really creative ways to help Chestnut Tree House as well as giving a great experience to Vodafone customers.”
The Brighton store will open with a brand new look to bring customers closer than ever to the best in mobile, including top ten tables displaying the best-selling devices, so they can try before they buy.
The in-store team will then be able to help set up their phone or tablet, as well as transferring over their contacts and photos with Vodafone Red Box, so they can leave the store ready to go. They’ll also be able to click and collect, using the store as the place to pick up their online purchases.
Whether you’re a consumer or a small business, Vodafone has a range of services for you, from the innovative Vodafone Red plans – giving unlimited calls, texts and loads of data – to the latest ‘must-have’ handsets such as the Samsung GALAXY S5, Sony Xperia Z3 and iPhone 6. So come in for a chat and spend some time with the team, even if it’s simply to ask their advice on how to get the most from your phone or tablet
The opening of the Brighton store forms part of Vodafone’s plans to invest £1 billion in 2014 in the networks and services relied upon by its more than 19 million UK customers. Vodafone UK’s 2014 capital investment programme is the largest in its history – dating back to the company’s foundation in the 1980s – with work already well underway to deliver Vodafone’s commitment to provide indoor and outdoor coverage using 2G, 3G and 4G services to 98% of the UK population.
