Police issue warning after spate of car thefts

Motorists are being urged to be on their guard after a spate of car break ins across the city.

Year on year figures show that there has been a 70% rise in the number of incidents – with more than 80 incidents alone reported in the east of the city.

Police chiefs urged residents to be on their guard – and not make it easy for crooks by leaving their cars unlocked.
