Bus companies to participate in Halloween charity fundraiser

On Friday 31 October, staff at Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus will be participating in a charity dress down/dress up day to help raise funds for their Charity of the Year, the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance (KSS Air Ambulance).

The KSS Air Ambulance carries out invaluable work to help save the lives of trauma victims. On average it attends 1,800 missions a year with each mission costing around £2,500. The charity needs to raise £6 million each year to keep the service operational.

Brighton & Hove Buses/Metrobus’ Community Action Group which is run by a small group of staff members recently chose the KSS Air Ambulance as their Charity of the Year. Desna Tatler, chair of the group said: “We are very excited to kick start our support for the KSS Air Ambulance with our first fundraising event on Halloween Day where all employees can get involved in the fun and help raise money for a good cause”.

The bus companies would like to prewarn passengers to not be scared if they are confronted with a Halloween witch or ghost behind the wheel of a bus this Friday!

Drivers will not be able to accept contributions for the charity but members of the public can donate online by visiting: www.kssairambulance.org.uk/give/online
