People, get ready, as Lily Allen rolls into town at the end of next week with a stop off in the city at the Brighton Centre, as part of her ‘Sheezus’ tour. Lily, who has been touring extensively this summer played the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury and has just finished a US tour supporting Miley Cyrus. The exuberant singer will be performing hits from her number 1 selling album as well as some crowd pleasers thrown in, I am told.

Lily Allen plays the Brighton Centre on 27th November.

Strictly … to the rescue
Fans of Strictly Come Dancing tuned into a treat, not a trick, last Saturday night – when Brighton belle Zoe Ball stepped in at the last minute. Zoe, 42, came to the rescue after co-host Claudia Winkleman missed her normal presenting slot to look after her poorly child.

She was said to be ‘terrified’ about stepping in, but Zoe need not have worried: fans of the show thought she did such a good job that some of them called for her to become a permanent member of the weekend team.

Zoe normally presents the BBC2 offshoot of the show, Strictly Come Dancing – It Takes Two, but her effervescent style was called upon to save the day.

Scott Mills, who was voted off the show at the weekend, tweeted; “Well done @ZoeTheBall, you were great tonight x.”

Creepy crawlies
Singer Katie Melua has had a bit of a tough week, it seems, after announcing on her Instagram that a spider has being living in her ear!

Straight out of a halloween horror tale, Katie, who studied at Sussex University, stunned fans when she told them that the eight legged creature had climbed into the earbud earphones she used on a recent flight.

Posting a video of the creature on her Instagram account, Melua wrote: “So I had a rustling in my ear for a week and went to the doctor. This little fella is what they found!”

The spider was removed using a micro-vacuum and Melua took it home, alive.
Her spokesperson said: “The ear specialist said he’d never in his career taken out a live bug before … plenty of dead ones. When it was out, it was pretty tiny.”
