Reggie Perrin pile of clothes on Brighton beach prompts 999 search

A Reggie Perrin pile of clothes on a beach in Brighton prompted a search by the emergency services today (Saturday 3 January).

Sussex Police said: “Police and coastguards have been searching the beach near Duke’s Mound, Madeira Drive, Brighton, after a member of the public found a quantity of abandoned clothing there shortly after 11am.

“Items included a black XX large Superdry jacket with an orange lining, a pair of 34in waist black George-brand trousers and a large blue Hollister t-shirt.”

The force appealed to anyone who saw anything suspicious or who has information that may help trace the owner of the clothing to get in touch,
