Crazy weather of 2014 – the hottest and wettest on record

2014 will be remembered for many things -not least as it gave us some of the craziest weather in living memory.

On the one hand it was the hottest on record; on the other it was one of the wettest.

So why was this? And why do us Brits just love talking about the weather?
