Have you discovered it yet? Grow 40 is Brighton’s first French cuisine and kitchen roof garden, in the heart of the bohemian North Laine. The team are all about local, homegrown produce, sourcing considerately and seasonally from local growers and traders, with a herb garden on the roof tended daily by dedicated members of the team. Not only does the Grow 40 repertoire boast over 300 wines, but they also create their very own on-site infused gins and champagne cocktails. It’s the ideal cosy nook to enjoy a glass of red or white wine alone, or with friends, and watch the world go by.

Diners can enjoy a three course meal, a local cheeseboard or a bespoke South Coast Charcuterie Board – totally British, and very original in both taste and quality.

The buzzing North Laine location is perfect for people-watching, making Grow 40 the ideal spot for a lazy afternoon – the menu is not to be missed, but you need not commit to a meal on every visit; there’s something for the wine lovers too. Grow 40 have their own sommelier (Audric) and wine specialist (Steve) on hand – Steve is one of the founders of Grow 40 and has created a wine club behind the scenes. He is always happy to assist with wine tastings or wine matching to add a touch of the elite to the Grow 40 experience! If you are truly passionate about wine, the Grow 40 team can even enrol you into their Wine Club (for limited numbers only), with access to a private ‘members only’ wine snug on the top floor.

The calendar is filling up for 2015 – the diligent Grow 40 team are hosting monthly wine tastings and food demos for groups of eight or more, where you can try wines from around the world, expertly matched with their delightful French cuisine. You can even meet Chef Patron Mickael Blanchet and discover the secrets of the recipes from the expert himself, get up close and personal, and learn about dish preparation before tucking in … with your specially selected wines!

Grow 40 can cater for private dinner parties, champagne and canapé receptions and special events too.
