Talking about kinky ladies. Weren’t you? Well we were. Because Eve Poland has just given us the go ahead for her page in this year’s must-read book: Art in Brighton 2015. And one of the artworks she’s featuring, ‘Our Lady of the Catnip’, is that irresistible combination of a foxy female draped in twisted kitties. The Dane’s had to go for a lie down. So enjoy this sneak preview – and look out for our new publication in April.

While we’re on the subject of naughtiness, She Said – Brighton’s famously erotic boutique – is currently hosting an explosively colourful exhibition of artworks by Louise Dear in its recently opened flagship store on Ship Street. The show is cheekily entitled ‘Fifty Shades of Love’, with not a grey in sight. Louise’s neo-pop infused works are a sumptuous feast of colour, expertly fashioned using a multitude of media; golds, glitters and glosses layered on panels of distressed aluminium. Lavish, richly textured figures are sensually erotic, luminous and powerful, overlaid with flowers and frivolity that entice and seduce the viewer. Until 28 March.

Don’t miss: The Big Heart Auction is a very special online charity art auction raising money for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice. It kicks off live on eBay from 26 February and runs for 10 days, with an amazing array of work donated by Brighton’s gorgeous, generous creative community such as this sensational print, ‘Sussex Downs Sunset Crimson I’, by one of our favourite Phoenix artists, David Moore. Dig deep and get your bids in. And if you want to see the artworks up close, head to Brighton Dome between 4–6 March for the free exhibition (10am–5pm).
