30 new local jobs to be created by Carewatch

30 new local jobs created in Brighton & Hove, Shoreham and West Sussex as care provider launches recruitment drive

30 new jobs are to be created in the Brighton & Hove, Shoreham and West Sussex areas, as leading home care provider Carewatch Brighton & Hove launches a vigorous recruitment drive to meet the increasing demand for its services.

Carewatch will be holding recruitment open days for those interested in a rewarding career in social care, with a view to recruiting 30 new care and support staff, including live-in carers, locally. Open days will be held at Carewatch Care Services, Unit 3, English Business Park, English Close, Hove BN3 7EE between 9am and 5pm on the following dates:

– Thursday 16 April
– Friday 17 April

Tea, coffee, biscuits and cake will be available. If you are currently working in care, or interested in a career in care, do come along and meet us.

Carewatch has recently increased its hourly wages for its care and support workers and those hired will have the opportunity to attain care qualifications which will help them develop their skills and expertise providing care.

With life expectancy rising thanks to modern medicine and more people adopting healthy lifestyles, researchers expect the fastest growing age group to be the over 65s. While this is a positive, Carewatch emphasises the growing need for carers, who are vital to support people in Brighton & Hove, Shoreham and West Sussex by enabling them to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible.

Carewatch will be looking to recruit people who are compassionate, considerate and wish to make a real difference to the lives of others. Flexible working hours are offered – from just a few hours each week to full-time – including alternate weekends. Having your own transport is desirable because the role involves travel time. The role includes providing personal care and practical support to customers, such as helping people with bathing and dressing, shopping and accompanying them to clubs. In return, full training and support will be given.

Sue Knight, Branch Manager at Carewatch Brighton & Hove, commented: “Quality care and support workers are key to our organisation’s services, but we need to recruit more if we are to meet the challenges of the UK’s ageing population.

“We’re looking for compassionate people to join our team of professionals, enabling our customers to retain their independence, dignity and security, in their own home. This is a demanding but fulfilling career. If you believe you have the right qualities, we’d love to hear from you.”

The recruitment open days provide an opportunity for people who are interested in a career in care. If you have cared for somebody, maybe a family member, or have an interest in helping others but do not have qualifications in care, be sure to visit. Carewatch provides full training and support to all new carers.

If you would like to meet with us on the day, please call Sue Knight at Carewatch on 01273 207111 or just come along.
