The Shires

Country is on the up in the UK and The Shires are leading the charge.

They are the first of their ilk to make it into the official UK top 10 album chart.

Their gig at Concorde 2 on Sunday night was very well received and the audience and performers enjoyed relaxed patter between songs.

Both Chrissie and Ben have really unique and soulful vocals. Together, their harmonies work effortlessly.
The songs are exactly what you would expect from the country genre; basic storytelling in a simple format.
Their debut album ‘Brave’, would very much suit being the soundtrack to a typical American romantic comedy.
Recommended only for those with a very sweet tooth!
