Jonny And The Baptist: Rock The Vote

The satirical musical ‘band’ Jonny And The Baptists have been touring the country in the run up to the General Election and, although they admit they are themselves Socialists, the main impetus behind the show is urging us all to simply thing – and of poking all of the political bears with equal pith.

It’s a personal and a general show, including laments to both performers’ parents on that generation’s political choices. And there is something of an edge of despair to their tone as they sing of a more juvenile time before they chose to focus on what, in their eyes, have become more desperate political times.

Overall though, this show shook us gently up in anticipation of Thursday’s election, making us all the more aware that change is certainly coming.
