Part of Brighton’s Lanes to be pedestrianised at weekends

From tomorrow one of Brighton’s busiest streets will be pedestrianised at weekends.

East Street is at the heart of The Lanes.

But currently it’s used by people on foot, in cars and on bikes.

From tomorrow, on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 7pm it will be open only to those on foot.

The aim of the trial scheme is to create a more pleasant environment for the thousands of shoppers and others who walk through the street at weekends.

But what do those using the area think of the plans? We took to the streets to find out….
