Brighton and Hove council chief to step down – at £270,000 cost to taxpayer

Brighton and Hove’s most senior civil servant has been ousted from her role.

The decision to remove the city council’s CEO Penny Thompson will cost taxpayers more than two hundred and fifty thousand pounds.

The shock move emerged overnight with lead politicians meeting this morning to discuss the details.
