Knightmare:LIVE – Level 2
Hello, stranger.
You may remember ‘Knightmare’, the multi-million pound computer generated adventure game first aired on children’s TV in the 1980’s. Well it’s back as a live theatre show made for around £3.68 and shiny button. Very much a tongue-in-cheek pastiche of the original, albeit with an obvious amount of love/respect for the show but able to wallow in some of its absurdity. As close to a panto for kids nearing 40 as you can get. The props are awful, the set dilapidated, however that is part of the show’s charm and it is side-splittingly funny. Chaotically daft, a pure nostalgia, indulgent and hugely entertaining. “You’re in a room” and a very joyous one at that.
