Unknown Mortal Orchestra
In one sentence, the set was mellow to the core but had flecks of artistic licence.
To divulge, UMO flitted between their three records as if it was just one body of work. There was such an emphasis on the set as a whole and made the viewing experience spectacle-like.
In particular, songs such as ‘Necessary Evil’ and ‘Ffunny Ffriends’ were stretched out and meddled with elements of jazz, which acted as hearty interludes between songs. But this riled some audience members who expected a track-to-stage replication in their performance. The majority did however really immerse themselves in the well orchestrated live rendition. The evening proved to be, and was crafted to be, a true entity of itself.
