James Bay
With Bay being known as an up and coming star in the UK it was no surprise that he was nothing short of amazing. There were almost five minute guitar solos between songs, a charm and personality about him, and he seemed to love every minute of it just as much as the crowd did.
It takes a special singer/songwriter to have the crowd singing every word of most of their songs start to finish and James managed to achieve that. Having busked in Brighton in his early years he has some very special memories here and that made the experience even better.
He was backed by a band of very talented musicians who were also fantastic and special credit is due to the keyboardist who provided a mind blowing solo during a cover of ‘If I Ain’t Got You’. Like every live show it’s good to mix up the tempo a bit during the set and that is exactly what happened, bringing the crowd almost to a standstill and getting them straight back up again to the same excitable mood felt at the start of the show.
