Ben Fogal: Call Of The Wild

Ben’s rise as TV’s ‘go-to wild adventurer’ is not exactly a rags to riches affair. But it is a tale of dogged determination, a series of serendipitous events and sheer bloody mindedness. He is a case study in grasping every opportunity given to him, running with it and draining every last drop out of life’s experiences. And it is an extraordinary tale: from BBC’s social experiment ‘Castaway’, to zoo programmes, adventures with “nut-case” James Cracknell, endurance races and wilderness adventures. And yet he comes across as an extremely humble and grounded individual, a thoroughly decent and nice man. Just a shame the background photo’s didn’t match topic.
