The Fall
After nearly 40 years, every music lover will have been told that The Fall are still a great live band, but that doesn’t make it any less noteworthy or striking. Calmly staggering on twenty minutes late, Mark E. Smith drawled on in an endearing, purposeful rambling sort of way and the four piece band created an intoxicating racket. The overall sound was superb, with short, sharp keyboard parts underlined by rich, sludgy bass and spidery guitar scratches. A fun post-punk set with a confidence and swagger about it from a truly talented musician and bandleader.
