Brighton council fires park rangers by text mesage – and GMB lashes back

Council chiefs have unveiled plans to cut their budget by more than 20 million pounds in the coming year.

It’s part of a wider proposal to find 60 million pounds in the next four years.

The plans, which will be discussed in detail next week, include the scrapping of more than 500 posts.

The majority of the money will have to come out of the adult social care budget.

Other services affected will be City Parks and education as councillors look to balance the books.

A final decision is due in February.
