Sam Walker – The Sweetness Of The Gathering Night

Talented Multi-instrumentalist Sam Walker headlined this monthly spectrum night put on by Resident Records, playing a set charming and powerful by turns and completely compelling from the first till last moment. The visuals and lighting were very skilfully deployed, sensitively surrounding and punctuating, but never intruding on the music. Sam has found his own unique voice and it is so very authentic and startling, for every tender warble there was a throaty titan of a roar waiting in the wings. In the room, a palpable sense of the deep magic being crafted here. I had shivers, tears and euphoria all in one set.
