Bill Bailey – Limboland
Bill Bailey is still capable of surprising himself. He repeatedly returns to the idea that the entire audience of the sold-out Brighton Centre are actually Dutch, wiping his face to hide his own hysterical laughter as audience members respond in the appropriate accent.
Limboland offers the surreal verbal flights of fancy and musical interludes audiences expect from Bailey, along with more personal stories like the Arctic holiday gone wrong where his in-laws almost die, and irascible grumpy-old-man commentary on politics and One Direction. Yet while a Moby parody seems dated, his dub-reggae Downton Abbey remix ends the show in triumph.
