Investigation underway following fire at popular Brighton restaurant

An investigation has begun into a fire at a popular Brighton restaurant.

Fire crews were called to The Pomegranate on Manchester Street at around 2:15pm yesterday (Tuesday 8th December).

Latest TV understands the fire broke out in the kitchen, by the time crews arrived the smoke had risen to the roof of the building.

A spokesperson from East Sussex Fire and Rescue said there had been “extensive damage”.

All six engines based in Brighton and Hove were deployed to deal with the incident.

There are no reports of any injuries.
