Andy Parsons – Live And Unleashed (But Naturally Cautious)
The tagline is ‘Naturally Cautious’ – and it’s an apt description of Andy Parsons’ show. There’s a first act of familiar obsessions such as male angst and aging, almost as if he’s holding our hand to prepare for sharper stuff later. It’s not necessary, and while the second hour does punch up a few levels, Parsons could afford to get angrier and wittier, which he does in (literally) the last three minutes, revealing the possibility of someone working the same ideas as Mark Thomas but for a Mock The Week audience. Not a bad idea – but in the end, too cautious.
