Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra

The evening was a testament to Jools dynamic skillset and incredibly talented band. Joining Holland, amongst many, was Gilson Lavis – a drumming veteran who entertained the audience with a staggeringly good solo. Also gracing the stage was Ruby Turner, who possessed such a fluid vocal ability – linking up all facets of the band into one seamless performance. The only weak link in the framework was unfortunately Jools ‘special guest’ KT Tunstall who really disjointed, what up to this point, had been such a smooth display of jazz. Aside from this, Holland demonstrated quite effortlessly how to engage and entertain an audience in bringing together a group of ridiculously talented individuals.
