Brighton and Hove’s top doctor to step down

Brighton and Hove’s top doctor will step down from his role in a matter of weeks.

Tom Scanlon will leave his post as the city council’s director of public health in March to spend more time with his family.

Mr Scanlon said he will remain a GP but on a part time basis.

Councillors paid tribute to the senior health expert saying he’d made a great difference to the city.
