Steve Mason

Earlier on in the afternoon I heard Steve Mason on the radio. Alright, I thought. Apart from that I knew he was in the Beta Band, who seemed to grind to a halt in the 90’s with little legacy. So I was expecting a quiet night. How wrong was I. The band graced the stage with a mixed up repertoire. There were tunes such as ‘Fire, Oh My Lord’ and ‘Lot Of Love’. Army style and grooves combined with very catchy hooks, mixed with highly natural melodies. A 90s dance theme seemed to raise its head from time to time in quite a beautiful way. The packed room loved it and from going in with an open mind I totally loved it and will be purchasing the new album. A cracking show and I look forward to next time.
