Bent Double? I was nearly a pretzel! Host Zoe Lyons can really ignite her gay audience and she hit so many triggers I thought I was laughed out after her first set. No chance! Julie Jepson soon had me in tears with her ‘Cheeky Northern Lass in Brighton’ patter. Then deadpan Andrew Doyle’s rapid-fire self-criticism and contempt for convention was so energetic that I had to take deep, slow breaths. Finally headliner Pippa Evans blissfully raised the mania to stratospheric levels.

In this relaxed, friendly atmosphere they treat their audience kindly. I could even bring my in-laws along without embarrassment!
