Katherine Ryan: Kathbum

Kathbum is an acerbic show about love. Katherine Ryan loves her daughter, mother, one of her sisters, and warm-up act, 6 months pregnant Tania Edwards. She doesn’t love her ex-boyfriend, baby’s father or babyish women such as Cheryl Cole. Wearing a pretty dress and 6 inch heels, she tears apart perceptions of what a female comedian should be. Here’s a woman who has sold out the 1,700 seat Concert Hall yet takes time to empower 16 year old Imogen in the front row. There are risqué jokes, c-bombs and celebrity slaggings combined with brilliant accents and impressions. Funny, clever and quite extraordinary.
