Portslade man jailed for ten years for sexual offences against young girl

A Portslade man has been jailed for ten years after being found guilty of historic sex offences against a young girl.

Alyn Matless, 73, of Old Shoreham Road, was sentenced at Hove Crown Court this week.

He was found guilty of 15 counts, including rape and indecent assault.
All the offences relate to one Hove woman when she was aged between five and 14 in the 1960s and 1970s.

Matless was given four years for indecent assault, two years for gross indecency and 10 years for the rape offence. These will run concurrently.
