“Guilt ridden” mother jailed for life after confessing to second murder
A “guilt-ridden” mother who confessed to murdering her baby son while in prison for killing her young daughter has been jailed for life.
37 year old Lesley Dunford, smothered her seven-month-old son Harley in his cot at their then home in Rye on August 27th 2003.
She admitted that this happened only six months before three-year-old Lucy died in similar circumstances.
The Old Bailey heard how Harley’s death was not treated as suspicious until Dunford confessed the murder to prison staff in 2014 while serving seven years for the manslaughter of her daughter.
