Richard Herring

Richard Herring began by reflecting on the string of recent celebrity deaths (Prince’s had been revealed earlier that day). “I think I’m going to carry on being mediocre,” he decides. Perhaps he should be more worried.

In the show that followed, Herring’s tightly-structured monologue on the nature of family and happiness holds the room – and keeps everybody laughing throughout. For consumers of Herring’s other work such as his podcasts there will be ground already covered, as is inevitable for someone with such a huge output – but to see him in his element here is to best enjoy his comedy, for hardcore fans and newcomers alike.
