Southern south coast services to be disrupted for days due to staff sickness

South coast rail services were severely disrupted today due to staff sickness.

It comes as Southern are in the middle of an industrial dispute with conductors over changes to driver-only trains.

Bosses at the firm said they were extremely disappointed by the staff absence.

They warned disruption was set to continue all week.

It comes as unions confirmed that a further two day strike planned for next week has been postponed. Instead a 24 hour walkout will take place on May 20.
