Comedy In The Dark

It may sound gimmicky, watching a condensed comedy club set from respected comics – in this case Jen Brister, Joey Page, Tez Ilyes and Paul Foot – with their delivery entirely in pitch black, but really it was liberating. No silence is awkward, any audience member feared of the scrutiny of a razor-sharp comic can literally disappear – and all that’s left is the comedy, standing or falling on its own merit. Hence the quality booking of an enjoyable and entirely tight line-up of acts. It’s only an hour, and in that time serves up a tasty comedy bite from each comic, giving us an idea of what might happen if the radio could hear us too.
